Serena von Varel is a beautiful 8 month old German Shepherd mix. She has a twinsie in her sister Venus, but you can differentiate them immediately because Serena has the cutest white-bearded neck. Serena is new to Westside and still a little shy – she definitely walks better next to Venus. We expect her to be a medium-energy dog once she opens up a little more. Once Serena gets to know you, she starts to get a little bounce in her step. She thoroughly enjoyed her hike with a kind volunteer and was skipping around on Hill Street after, happy to say hi to the other dogs whom she met on the hike. Serena is the absolutely perfect dog in her playgroups, getting along great with everyone and often coming back to her humans for attention. She would be an ideal candidate for doggy daycare or dog parks. Serena is also wonderful with children and loved to follow around the 12 year old in her previous foster home. She is also housebroken and extremely eager to please. Serena and her sister are still young pups and we would hate to see them grow up in the kennels.
